There’s one topic that has been very important in my awakening, but I don’t talk about it often.
It might even be one of the most important parts of the awakening journey.
I call it letting go.
Letting go of the old to make space for the new.
Letting go of darkness so more Light can come in.
Letting go of the ego so the Soul can shine brighter.
It’s a process of releasing everything that no longer serves us.
Just like we need to clean our home to keep it tidy, we also need to clear out our inner space from time to time.
This kind of cleansing shows up in many ways.
Sometimes it means letting go of habits, people, beliefs, or energetic attachments that weigh us down.
Other times, it means changing how we see something. Like changing the way we remember a painful experience.
For example, if we look back at our childhood and remember it as difficult or unfair because of the pain we went through, that memory can still affect how we see ourselves today.
Our ego is built from the stories we tell about ourselves. And when those stories are full of unhealed wounds, they can lower our self-worth.
But when we begin to awaken and see from a higher perspective, something beautiful can happen.
We might be guided to revisit those old memories and see them in a new way.
From this new light, we begin to understand that those challenges were part of our Soul’s plan all along.
They were here to help us grow. To build strength. To shape our character. To guide us toward healing, so we could later help others. To teach us love and forgiveness.
When we truly see a past experience in a new way, it changes something deep inside us. The story rewrites itself, and we begin to feel different about who we are.
This is a natural part of spiritual growth.
It often happens when we’re ready for the next step.
It might come through sleep, meditation, or even during a random moment in the day.
Have you ever had an old memory suddenly come up out of nowhere?
That’s usually a sign that a cleansing is happening.
It's an invitation to look at what you no longer need, so you can let it go or see it in a new way.
You don’t need to force anything. Just let the process happen.
In my experience, this always happens before a big shift. Before a new light enters my life.
It’s like being asked to clear out a drawer so the universe can bring in something better.
So my advice is: don’t be afraid to let go of the old. It might be making space for something more beautiful than you can imagine.
